SUMMARY OF PAST PROGRAMS

We held the Niger Delta Post Amnesty Summit of which the Late President Umaru Musa Yaradua wrote the then Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and copied us to liaise with the Ministry for the success of the program. We intended to bring Dag Group to that Forum, but due to the situation of things then and added to the fact that we have to do it in a very low key as the absence of President Yaradua’s ill health really affected it. The second phase was the Niger Delta Development and Investment Roundtable.

We were among the organizers of African Ambassadors’ Roundtable on Development in collaboration with INGO Third Resource Sector and Nigerian Business Roundtable Forum lead by Amb Bamangar Tukur.

We led the Dag Group Inc Germany/UK to a visit to the German Embassy on the oil and gas/infrastructure development project. The visit also served as an avenue to appreciate the German government for the funds they made available to combat climate change and global warming in the Sub-Saharan Africa.

Donations in funds and material things are made through our encouragement/support to a poverty alleviation program on the Capital Fm 92.9 called ‘Lean on Me’ through one of our Life Matrons, Hajia Binta Ibrahim.

We were involved in the monitoring of the 2011 general elections realizing the fact that credible election is panacea to poverty alleviation and development, CENPAD was involved in the monitoring of election and also participated with other civil societies that assisted INEC in voter education and mobilization.

Was recognized and invited through our Lagos office by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) due to our numerous contributions to economic policy development as it relates to poverty alleviation and sustainable development, to participate in a policy dialogue with Prof. Attahiru Jega, the then INEC Chairman on the 2011 general elections in December 2010 at Lagos.

We need the support of all stakeholders in our activities. We are capable of affecting lives in so many ways if we get the required support.
